(Senior) Flavourist - Food & Beverages (m/f/d)

Role description
We are looking for a Flavorist with proven expertise in food & beverage flavour development to join the expanding R&D team in Hamburg. 
We are seeking a knowledgeable, determined, and creative individual eager to drive growth and build winning flavours.
Your Mission
Flavour Creation:
  • Work on targeted internal developments to expand our portfolio and create a product-market-fit.
  • Develop winning flavours based on market products using innovative technologies and data analysis.
  • Modify existing flavours to fit different markets, price points, applications, regulations etc.
  • Become part of our customer success team: participate in innovation days, join the sales team on customer visits, and work in partnership with the department to identify strategic flavour gaps to enhance our portfolio.
Internal R&D Processes:
  • Participate in internal sensory panels for flavours, raw materials and applications.
  • Cooperate with cross-department teams to build our sensory assessment platform. 
  • Support in the evaluation of raw materials to keep building our internal library. 
  • Evaluate analytical data for flavour development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Between 5 to 9 years of professional experience as a flavorist in the food & beverage industry or other related industries. 
  • Experience as a beverage flavorist working with emulsions or compounds, a plus. 
  • Strong sensory skills, expert level tasting skills. 
  • Trained and knowledgeable on relevant natural and synthetic raw materials. 
  • Basic understanding of the different food and beverage applications, but good understanding of flavour performance and how to improve products. 
  • Fluency in English is necessary, any other languages an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • University degree in Food Chemistry / Science, Chemistry or Biochemistry. 
  • Experience working directly with customers.
  • Ability to assess data for flavour creation from Chromatography (e.g. GC-MS) and other analytical tools. 
  • High level of creativity and initiative. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of local and regional regulations. 
  • Sense of responsibility, reliability and organization.
